Devon Meadowcroft joined the Department of Agricultural Economics in August of 2020. She is an Extension Instructor based at the Delta Research and Extension Center located in Stoneville, Mississippi. Devon received her Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University in Agricultural Economics in May 2019. Prior to joining the Department, Devon was a postdoctoral researcher at the Northeast Regional Center for Rural Development at Pennsylvania State University. Her past research has included work on health economics issues concerning the opioid epidemic in the rural U.S. and the COVID-19 pandemic. She has also worked on studies examining the determinants of regional business innovation, and how innovation impacts an area's economic outcomes. Devon's research and extension efforts at Mississippi State will be focused on rural development topics, in particular those related to health and community development.
