    Dan Petrolia, Assistant Professor, was chosen for the Gamma Sigma Delta Research Award of Merit 2012.

  • Keith Coble
    Keith Coble has been awarded USDA's Bruce Gardner Award for his major contributions working closely with ERS economists to produce, under tight deadlines, internal USDA staff analyses of revenue program proposals that were made during the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction (Super Committee) process.
  • Student Awards
    Several Ag Econ students received awards at the annual Senior Spring Banquet. The John Lee Award was jointly awarded to Dominic Avioli and Clay Gholston; the Outstanding Senior Award went to McKenzie Crabtree; and the High Class GPA Awards went to Leslie Gregg (SR), Ben Sanderson (JR), Harlan Rogers (SO), and Caitlin McLeod (FR).
  • Keith Coble
    Keith Coble is the MSU receipient of the 2012 Southeastern Conference Faculty Achievement Award. He was recognized for his record of extraordinary teaching and it was noted that he has a record of scholarship that is recognized nationally and/or internationally.
  • NAMA Team
    Congratulations to our student presentation team for the National AgriMarketing Association marketing competition. This team, consisting of Michael Adams, Lee Anglin, McKenzie Crabtree, Clay Deane, Hunter Garnett, Clay Gholston, Tom McDow, and Chelsi Smith, won (for the second year in a row) the "Team I'd Like to be Friend With on Facebook" Award. Thanks also to Ken Hood and Kim Morgan for working with this team again this year.
  • Study Abroad in Brazil
    Our EEM students Will Ferraez, Jonathon Giuffria, and Ben Sanderson, along with Aislinn Kopp (Economics) participated in a spring break study abroad program in Brazil. The title and theme of the program is "Providing Education in the Face of Climate Change, and Food and Energy Scarcity". The course is led by Drs. Joe Massey and Jac Varco from Plant and Soil Sciences.

    On April 19, Keith Coble's Public Problems of Agriculture class held its annual policy debate. The topic was: "Resolved: The U.S. government should increase funding for the 'Feed the Future' program by 20 percent".
