Academic Credit

Interns are awarded academic credit upon successful completion of the internship program. Policies concerning credit are listed below.
  1. A maximum of six credit hours will be permitted for completion of a student’s Internship Program(s). The amount of credit allowed for each program will be determined by the Internship Program Committee prior to the beginning of the internship. Typically, one hour of credit is authorized for each two weeks of work (based on a 40-hour work week). The credit hours may be completed in one internship program (i.e., one summer) or they may be allocated to two internship programs (i.e., two summers).

  2. Academic credit for the internship will only be given upon approval of the Internship Program Committee or the department head. The grade will be assigned on a Pass-Fail basis.
