Employers like to see that you have prepared for a career in food and agricultural sciences by studying math, biology, chemistry, English, communications, business, and agricultural sciences, and the earlier you begin studying, the better. Employers also look for leadership skills, which you can develop by actively participating in FFA, 4-H, and other student organizations.
