rom the farm to the corporate board room and the halls of government, the Agribusiness degree is designed to create leaders in both thought and action. This degree program combines core courses from Agricultural Economics with business courses in Accounting, Marketing, Management, Finance, and Business Law to provide a strong foundation for careers in business management.

Why Choose Agribusiness over General Business?

Aspects unique to agribusiness are the risks and uncertainties of agricultural production, the heavy reliance on natural resources, the uniqueness of the institutions that govern food and agriculture, the competitive structures within the agribusiness sector, the technology of commercial agriculture and food processing, and the global dimensions of food and agriculture.

Around 20 % of the U.S. Economy is related to food and fiber production, processing, transportation, marketing, and sales. Agribusiness is also international in scope, with many U.S. companies operating throughout the world. The large size of this sector of the economy means many job opportunities in all facets of business: accounting, finance, marketing, management, and sales.

Where Can I Get A Job?

The flexibility of the Agribusiness degree offers the ability to customize training for all areas of business. Our graduates have entered careers with companies like:

  • Federal Land Bank
  • Amsouth
  • Mechanics Bank
  • Farm Bureau Insurance
  • Sparks Companies
  • John Deere
  • Novartis
  • Farmland Industries
  • Terra Industries.
